Today was full and meaningful. We began our morning at the Hellenic Ministries center on Evipidou Street in Athens, a place filled with compassion and purpose. We learned about the Skills Training Centre, the RainLab women’s enterprise, and the dental and medical clinics that offer free care to people who have nowhere else to turn. The center serves meals every day, some days for refugees and other days for local neighbors, each meal offered with love and dignity.
Andrew Dunbeck brought greetings from Cumberland, sharing encouragement with the leaders and volunteers who faithfully serve in this ministry. Between our visit and the afternoon meal service, we had time to walk through the Parthenon. Standing among its ancient stones reminded us that every generation has searched for meaning and truth.
Later, we joined the Evipidou team to prepare and hand out more than 150 meals to locals in need. It was a simple and powerful way to live out Cumberland’s “hear, near, and far” mission, serving with open hands wherever God places us.
We ended the day around the Calhouns’ table, sharing stories, laughter, and a home-cooked meal. Their hospitality was a blessing and the perfect close to a day of service and connection.
