“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭34‬:‭3‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Freedom and Nancy are connected with many churches here in Ecuador, but their home church is English Fellowship Church. It’s walking distance from their home, and filled with incredible people. Many people there are North American missionaries, and it’s always fascinating to meet them and hear their stories. And then there are people from all around the world who come to Ecuador for various reasons and come to this church, plus locals wanting to improve their English. Anyone is welcome and English and Jesus are the common bonds. It was interesting to hear the team talk about how it felt like a rest to their ears to hear a service in English after 4 days full of Spanish. It was a joy to worship with other believers here in Quito.

This evening Freedom and Nancy hosted a young adult night they lovingly refer to as YALL - Young Adult Leadership & Learning (I think). The house they rent here is beautiful and Ecuadorian architecture is so stunning. Their home is such a welcoming place. They know what students like (food) and they know what they need (Jesus) and they find them both at The Art Serve House. Their home has a peace about it that makes you want to stay a while.

At YALL there was pizza and games and then Daniel shared a Word in CAYA fashion with great discussion. Our team was engaged and the students were too. And after that there was about 30 minutes of worship music playing that we could sing with or worship in a dozen other ways. It was really refreshing to see students seeking the Lord and praying together and challenging each other. When the playlist ended, I don’t think anyone wanted to leave! Such a sweet time of worship, and definitely a place where Freedom and Nancy pour into so many relationships. We had such a good time, I forgot to take pictures.

Today we had our first big disappointment of the trip though. Cara-Marie was sick. 💔 She was such a trooper, but everyone knows it’s miserable to be sick away from home. She is recovering well, and we are hoping she will be good to go tomorrow morning. Please pray for her full recovery, and for our team that no one else gets it.

Two days left, friends. Thank you for your prayers!
