Ecuador Mission Trip 2026

Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ looks different for every person in every context.  Freedom and Nancy Rodriguez are using their giftings as artists to share Jesus with children in Ecuador.  They teach art classes in community centers where children go daily outside of school hours, rather than to empty homes while their parents work.  At the center they receive a hot meal, and tutoring help, and their hearts are engaged with the Gospel through art projects fostering their creativity and it's relationship to their Creator.

Cumberland is returning to Quito to support Freedom and Nancy in their work, and to continue to build relationships with these children that Jesus loves.  We will build into these ministries that they partner with, and spend time loving on the children and encouraging the staff who work tirelessly at these sites.  We will use gifts and talents of our team members to connect with people.  Art projects, sports, murals, times of worship and sharing Scriptures can all be used to connect with people and connect them with the Lord.   

If you want to join this team in Ecuador, you can expect to spend time alongside children, helping with crafts or with sports.  You can expect times of Bible Study and prayer, as we learn from our believing brothers and sisters in Ecuador.  You can expect a fair amount of walking, and also some time to see the beauty that God has created in Ecuador.  Team members will meet together before the trip to learn more about the culture and to prepare to engage with people living in poverty without hurting them.  We will also encourage each other as we learn Spanish and practice it.
