Final Reflections from Greece

As our team wrapped up this incredible journey, we spent our final day resting, reflecting, and enjoying fellowship before heading home. We began with coffee and conversation, sharing insights from the week—one last morning connection that reminded us of God’s faithfulness throughout the trip.

After packing up our apartment in Chania, we headed to the beach for some team time. With a compact SUV (Fiat Diablo) and lots of luggage, we got creative—Matt secured bags with rope, Joe drove, and Stephen navigated. It was a fitting picture of the teamwork that carried us through the week.

At the beach, some swam and hiked while others rested by the water. We were joined by Bereket, Zoe, and their daughter Bethany from the Anamnisi ministry—another sweet reminder of the community we’ve been blessed to serve alongside.

Later, we shared lunch, said goodbye to our Greece Partners and flew to Athens. Though we left behind dear friends, we carry their stories and prayers with us. Our teammate Lori remains in Greece for a few more weeks, and we’re praying for her continued service.

That evening, the remaining team gathered for dinner on the pier. We reflected on the trip, shared stories, and enjoyed each other’s company before turning in early for our journey home.

One of the greatest honors of this trip was serving alongside Stephen and supporting the Calhoun family in their faithful work on the ground. Their commitment to church planting and relational ministry is inspiring, and it was a privilege to stand with them in shared mission.

This trip has stretched and encouraged each of us. From Crete to Ioannina, from coffee shops to refugee communities, we’ve seen the beauty of all things new—here, near, and far.

Thank you for your prayers and support.
Until next time—Kalinýchta.
